Working in the ICU is top sport
Working in healthcare is top sport par excellence. Especially in these times: ICU employees work double shifts, experience stress and have short and restless nights. Dutch healthcare is working very hard to provide patients with the help they need at this time. Herzog Medical is not a charitable institution, but there are times when as a company you have to put profit making on the sidelines. Especially when a theme affects you personally. In 2020, director Harald Herzog sat down with Diederik Gommers to see how Herzog Medical can support the ICUs in the Netherlands.
During the corona years, Herzog Medical has made its socks available to employees in the ICU, on a non-profit basis. Director Harald Herzog's drive to want to help Dutch healthcare partly stems from the fact that he has seen up close the impact Corona can have. His eldest daughter is a doctor at the Charité hospital in Berlin, where everyone works hard to keep things running. Unfortunately, she contracted Corona herself a few months ago and the aftermath of her illness has really worried Harald as a father: currently, after more than 3 months, she still only has a lung function of 30% and she is only a shadow of what she was before Corona. was: a lively, sporty young woman. It feels extra good for the director of Herzog Medical that his company can do something for the hardworking healthcare staff in the Netherlands.
Many people know Herzog Sport Compression Socks because they have been worn for years by both amateur athletes and top athletes. Partly to avoid injuries, but big names such as Estavana Polman, Fabio Jakobsen and Mathieu van der Poel also wear the socks to accelerate recovery after exercise. ICU staff who walk and stand for hours at a time will similarly benefit greatly from wearing Herzog compression socks. Herzog socks promote venous and lymphatic return from the legs to the heart. This results in the absence of heavy or tired legs.

Former physiotherapist NAC BREDA
“During my time as a physiotherapist at NAC Breda, I recommended the PRO Compression Shorts from Herzog Medical to many players. These trousers are worn both preventively and curatively. Within football, the incidence of groin and hamstring injuries is high. With Herzog shorts you, as a physiotherapist, have an extra tool to properly manage these problems.”
