Danique Bank
At 31, Danique was diagnosed with breast cancer 🎗️, in the middle of preparing for a half marathon for the KWF (Dutch Cancer Society). After arduous treatments, she still ran it, with her mother proudly cheering her on from the sidelines.
Her mother has since passed away from the same disease 💔, but Danique keeps running. For herself, for her mother, and for everyone fighting this terrible illness.
With an indestructible mentality, compression as a constant source of power, and the KWF as her motivation, she stays physically and mentally active. Danique is a true fighter 💪🏻 and shows that even after the toughest miles, you can come back stronger.
Sunny Schippers
From 115 marathons to a personal best. 🏁🔥 Sunny has already run 75 international marathons and is now in Amsterdam for his next goal: to run his fastest marathon ever at 44 years old. With 115 marathons under his belt, he knows exactly how to push his limits and how important recovery is in that process.
The coming months will be all about hard training, full focus, and smart recovery. As a member of Team Herzog, he brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and a great story: his journey to Amsterdam will be featured in his second book. A veteran with a mission, and we're right there with him!
Floor Wijnen
Floor is both a doctor and a runner, body and soul 🩺. "For me, running is therapy, medicine, and zest for life all in one," she says. When she's not caring for her patients, she quickly laces up her running shoes: in search of freedom, rhythm, and fulfillment on the road.
Having recently moved, Floor used running as a way to explore her new surroundings. But what started as orientation quickly became addictive: the miles piled up, as did her love for running. 🗺️🏃🏻♀️
Less than 5 (!) months later, she was at the start of her very first marathon. With a healthy dose of courage, she completed it in 3:29:50. And that left her wanting more. Because Floor is unstoppable: ambitious, passionate, and always on the move. 💪🏼💥
Tom Oosterdijk
From beer belly to Ironman. 🍻➡️💪 From student bar to starting line. In 2017, Tom Oosterdijk turned his life around, learned to swim, and replaced hungover mornings with 20 hours of training per week. Not much later, he became… a professional triathlete. 🤯
Now he motivates others and is fully committed to the Amsterdam Marathon⚡️We're following every step. Stay tuned!
Jiske de Goede
Mother of two girls, business consultant, and running therapist. Jiske is a true late bloomer in athletics, showing with smart training and a gluten-free diet that you can grow and get stronger at any age. 💪
Despite her busy life with work and family, she manages to juggle everything 🤹 and trains very smartly. She shows how running, work, and motherhood can be combined.
We are following Jiske's inspiring journey to Amsterdam.
