Restless legs and the application of Herzog PRO Compression Stockings

We are also regularly asked whether our stockings can help with "Restless Legs Syndrome" (RLS). What happens in this condition and can anything be done about it?

Restless legs, what does that mean?

If you suffer fromrestless legsyou tend to constantly want to move your legs. It is an irresistible urge and when at rest, this annoying tingling in your lower legs does not go away. This feeling often occurs after sitting for a long time, before you go to sleep, or even during sleep. While this feeling is very annoying, it is not a cause for concern. It is often hereditary. A lack of exercise can be a cause, in addition to overweight, smoking, and alcohol consumption. It doesn't necessarily mean that all these indications must be present. Not much is yet known about this phenomenon. The advice is, of course, obvious if you identify as a smoker or regular drinker. It is recommended to exercise regularly, which activates the calf muscle pump action. Read more about thecalf muscle pump action here. Medicines are often used to reduce the symptoms.

There are also indications that compression stockings can make a useful contribution to reducing the symptoms. TheHerzog Support socksare best used for this. These are socks with slightly less compression than the Herzog PRO socks. The advantage is that you can also wear these socks while sleeping, i.e., when you are in a horizontal position. The PRO socks may then provide slightly too much compression.
