Collection: Edema

Edema, also called fluid retention, occurs when fluid accumulates in the legs or ankles. This can cause a feeling of heaviness, fatigue, or pain.

Herzog's medically approved (MDR) compression stockings are specially designed to improve moisture management. By distributing pressure effectively, they stimulate blood circulation and help reduce swelling. Suitable for lymphedema, venous edema, postoperative swelling, or prolonged standing.

Why choose compression stockings for edema?

In the case of edema, targeted, graduated pressure on the lower leg is essential to effectively remove fluid and waste products. Herzog compression stockings are medically approved (MDR-certified), anatomically shaped, and feature graduated compression: the highest pressure at the ankles, decreasing towards the thighs. This stimulates the drainage of fluid towards the heart.

Unlike standard support stockings, our Support Compression Stockings and PRO Compression Stockings are specifically designed for long-term use with fluid in the legs. They don't constrict, don't sag, and are comfortable enough for daily wear. They're also suitable for edema caused by pregnancy, surgery, standing work, or chronic conditions.

What is the difference between medical compression stockings and regular support stockings for edema?

Medical compression stockings – such as those from Herzog – have compression pressure class 2, for helpful pressure distribution against oedema complaints and are MDR-approved .

They provide targeted support for fluid retention and stimulate blood circulation. Regular compression stockings often have lower, less targeted pressure and are more suitable for light support without a medical indication.

01
Can I wear Herzog compression stockings for lymphedema or venous edema?

Yes, both lymphedema and venous edema can benefit from medical compression. Herzog offers compression stockings specifically designed to effectively wick away fluid and reduce tension in the leg. For medical conditions, we recommend PRO Compression Stockings due to their specific medical compression pressure (30-23 mmHg). For lighter (everyday) support, choose Support Compression Stockings.

02
Are Herzog compression stockings suitable for daily use?

Absolutely. Our compression socks are designed with targeted compression pressure, even for daily use and longer periods of time, such as during work, travel, or rest. They are seamless, breathable, and stay securely in place without constricting.

This way you benefit from reliable support for edema every day, without compromising on comfort.
